The barcode on your DS-160 must match the barcode on your appointment confirmation page. Mail-In Visa Renewal Program updates!

Secretary Blinken, in consultation with the Department of Homel& Security, has temporarily expanded the ability of consular officers to lớn waive sầu the in-person interview requirement for individuals reapplying for a nonimmigrant visa in the same classification. Previously, only those applicants whose nonimmigrant visa expired within 12 months were eligible for an interview waiver. The Secretary has temporarily extended the expiration period to lớn 48 months. This policy is in effect until December 31, 2021. This change will allow consular officers khổng lồ continue processing certain nonimmigrant visa applications while limiting the number of applicants who must appear at a consular section, thereby reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission to lớn other applicants và consular staff.

Applicants may now qualify lớn renew their visas by mail if their prior visa expired no more than 48 months ago, và meet all the other requirements for renewal without interview. For more information, please click here.

Requirements for Chinese Citizens

As of November 29, 2016, Chinese citizens with 10-year B1, B2 or B1/B2 visas in Peoples’ Republic of China passports are required to update their biographical và other information from their visa application through the Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) before travelling khổng lồ the United States. This update must be done every two years, or upon getting a new passport or B1, B2, or B1/B2 visa, whichever occurs first.

EVUS enrollment is available here. There is currently no fee for EVUS enrollment. Until a fee is implemented, travelers can enroll in EVUS without charge. The Department of Homelvà Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will keep visa holders informed of new information here.
